Newcastle United Announce New Training Complex that will ‘rival any in Europe’ |
Premier League football club Newcastle United have announced plans to build a new multi-million pound training complex that will “rival any in Europe.”
The redevelopment of the club’s 35-acre training site will begin in May 2015 and would be completed in 2016.
The existing training pitches and indoor hall will remain, but the current training centre building will be demolished as a part of the work.
Controversial Director of Football Joe Kinnear said: “This is a hugely exciting development.
"We have one of football's great stadiums and we are delighted to now be announcing plans for a training complex which will rival any in Europe.
"Top players and top teams need top training and medical facilities and this will also be an added attraction when we are looking to recruit players."
The site will include rehabilitation, medical, leisure and catering facilities.
